Delegates are responsible for their own arrangements. Accommodation in Stellenbosch is usually at a premium in March/April so early bookings are advisable. One thing to keep in mind when you make reservations is that Stellenbosch does not have a public transport system. If you do not have your own transport, you should plan to stay within walking distance of the conference venue (see the maps above).

There are numerous bed-and-breakfast places (Guesthouses) in and around Stellenbosch. Here are few suggestions, all within walking distance from the conference venue. Another possibility is to check at Airbnb or Lekke Slaap.

Although Stellenbosch has always been a quiet and relatively safe town, it is not entirely free of crime. It may therefore be a good idea to take normal safety precautions at night time, such as travelling in groups and avoiding dark alleys.

Travel in the Western Cape is usually safe, but it may be a good idea to discuss any travel plans with one of the organisers. As a general rule public transport is not recommended. If you plan to do sightseeing, renting a car at the airport is a good option. Alternatively there are several rental agencies who operate in Stellenbosch.
